October 12, 2019 – Integris®, a provider of IT support, strategy and services for small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits held its Fall Picnic at Morgan Falls Overlook in Sandy Springs. This 30-acre family-friendly park opened in 2010 and was the first new park created by the City of Sandy Springs since its incorporation. Amenities of this beautiful riverside landmark include picnic pavilions, a playground, clean restrooms, a boat dock, hiking trails, fire pits, porch swings and spectacular scenic views. And of course, a great body of water for fishing and paddle-boarding with paddleboard rentals from High Country Outfitters during the spring and summer months.

The sun was bright and the temperature was perfect for an eventful day that ran from 11-4pm and provided something for everybody; pumpkin carving, Jenga death matches, easy access to a giant lawn for kiddie cardio and soccer drills, a candy corn relay race, a T-shirt giveaway and sumptuous cuisine consisting of gourmet sausage, hamburgers, hotdogs, macaroni and cupcakes.

Since most Integris employees have kids, and the park is loaded with other families who have kids, the venue was overflowing with fresh, young faces and ample stimulation to keep all the youngsters engaged. “Not an easy feat at your typical company event,” noted Integris Strategic Solutions executive Melissa Codner. “I have a 7-year old and an 8-year old and they not only had a blast, they did not require a lot of extra supervision, allowing me to relax and interact with the team.”

As usual, Integris Solution Advisor (and music nerd) Jed Fearon served as company DJ with Integris’s portable PA system delivering a steady stream of classic rock from the 80’s. “Because,” as he puts it, “Imagine Dragons
is much more appropriate for dinner parties.”

Solution Advisor David Richardson (and newly appointed master of pumpkins) set up what seemed like an entire pumpkin patch for the carving contest along with an assortment of highly ornate and smaller hybrid pumpkins for the table settings that looked so unique a few employees took some home to decorate.

The general consensus was varied and positive. Integris Engineer Team Lead Tyler Olsen commented, “I appreciate getting to enjoy some wonderful food and excellent camaraderie while meeting my teammates’ partners and families.”

Integris Sr. Systems Engineer David Heinen gave the outing a positive review, “I had fun bonding with everyone which is a big benefit of Integris’s dual culture of serious business mixed with a healthy dose of fun. The owner is British so you can always count on him to bring the funny in the form of dry remarks and lightning fast witticisms.”

Integris Engineer Samir Black was quick to praise the food, “The amazing duck neck Samir brought in was something to write home about.”

We agree and look forward to what he’ll bring to the next event.
